U11A League Villa 1 Southend 1
Our U11A team played out an entertaining 1 all draw with Southend in Connors park. We started brightly and a Tommy Power free kick was cleared off the line with just a minute gone. Craig Brown was dominant in our defence and we took the lead on 20 mins when some good work by Colin Barry lead to Adam Doyle opening the scoring with a well taken shot. During this period Darragh Collopy showed some confident handling. In the 2nd half from a poor clearance from a corner a well taken Southend goal made the score 1 all. We dominated the last 20 mins of the 2nd half with David Hobbs playing very well in the middle of midfield. Tommy Power also made some nice passes during the 2nd half. A number of substitutions freshened up our team and Luke Power, Brian Cunningham, Dylan McGuire and Roy Butler all showed up well when introduced in the 2nd half. Indeed Luke Power came within inches of scoring a late winner with a header. The U11A league this year is very close so we need all players down training every Thursday.

U11C League Piltown 1 Villa 4
Saturday morning saw our 11B team travel to Piltown and put in a great performance to run out 4 -1 winners.
The lads struggled to get into gear early in the half and Piltown had the better of the play. Aiden Purcell on goal was in good form and commanded his box really well to snuff out several chances. After 15 min we found our passing rhythm which resulted in a contender for goal of the season.
After some good play the ball found its way to Luke Fitzgerald on the edge of the box, he laid it back to the supporting Adam Doheny who swung a great diagonal ball across the box into the run from the left wing of Dillon Griffin.
Dillon on the run hit a sweet volley from 12 yards out into the top corner to open the scoring. Shortly afterwards Calum O’Niell swivelled in the box to hit a nice volley and continue his scoring streak to leave us 2 -0 up at half time.
Things were freshened up at half time with four substitutions and one or two positional changes. We started the second half a lot better than we did the first but it was the home side that got the next goal.
This seemed to act as a wake up for the lads who raised their game which was rewarded when Calum added another. Our scoring was rounded off by Robert Ryan, who like Calum seems to have found his range. Following some good approach play down the left wing the ball came to Robert in the box, he feigned to go one way which was the way everyone else went then cheekily put the ball in the opposite corner.
Piltown almost got in for a second near the end but for an absolute peach of a tackle from Daryl Hemmingway who seems to be really settling in at the back.
Goal Scorers : Dillon Griffin(1), Robert Ryan(1), Calum O’Neil(2)
Best for Villa : Aiden Purcell, Luke Fitzgerald & Daryl Hemmingway.

U13A League Villa 7 Seaview 0
We had 2 tough games against this opposition last year and this game started the same but after 10 mins Villa settled, played some very good passing football and Conor Coad scored the first of his 4 goals. It was 6-0 at half time and Danny Ahern scored early in 2nd half. We missed a penalty late in the game .The positive points for this game was the good work from the 5 subs , with Walter Croke, Mark Walsh , Evan O'Donnell , Conor Sheehan and Niall McCabe all performing very well . The other scorers were Gavin O'Donovan & Kenneth McEvoy. Our defence , Walter Dunphy , Jamie Cross , Austin Gleeson and Christian Cullen controlled the game and apart from 2 great save's Brandon O'Callaghan had a quiet game . Next game 20th October SFAI away to Hanover Harps Carlow.

Under 15 League Villa B 3 Ballyduff 1
Our first win of the season after a hard fought game. We took the lead when Aaron Galibert sped past the Ballyduff defence to slot home. Aaron made it 2-0 from the penalty spot before a penalty for Ballyduff reduced the deficit at half time. We had plenty of chances to extend the lead and in the last minute Jonathan O'Brien got on the end of a Kevin Flynn cross to make it 3-1.
Best for Villa Paul Mates and Kenny Patterson.

Premier League Tramore 1 Villa 2
An eventful game but one we deserved to come away with three points from. Kevin O'Brien opened the scoring after 20 minutes from a free-kick. An entertaining first half saw no further goals. The second half saw Tramore have periods of pressure but it was Ian Cantwell who made it 2-0 with a few minutes remaining. Tramore had time to reduce the deficit and it was a nervous ending but a hard earned three points.

Thank You
During the Premier game Iain Hatton suffered a serious injury and while wishing Iain a speedy recovery we wish to thank Seamus Conway of Tramore FC and the Order of Malta in Tramore for their assistance.
