FAI JUNIOR CUP 6th Round Lissadell Utd 1 Villa 2
We travelled to Dublin for the 6th Round of the FAI Junior Cup and came away with an excellent victory. In extremely blustery conditions we had the better of the first half play with Nicky Corcoran dominant in mid-field, but neither ‘keeper was tested. However, on 41 minutes Kevin O’Brien’s corner came back to him courtesy of a Rory Walsh pass and Kevin curled the ball past the home ‘keeper. Three minutes later Glenn O’Neill was sharpest as Kevin O’Brien slid a ball across goal and Glenn’s touch made it 2-0 at half-time. As the weather deteriorated a scrappy second half saw some half chances on both sides. With 20 minutes left Lissadell scored but we comfortably held on to the lead and deservedly take our place in the last 16 of the competition.
In our only other game this month we made our exit from the Munster Junior Cup on a 3-0 scoreline to Waterford Crystal.

The A team suffered their first defeat of the season against a strong Southend side going down 1-0. The B team dropped points drawing 1-1 away to Waterford Crystal, Aaron O'Connor equalising Crystal's opener.
UNDER 13 SFAI CUP VILLA 5 HOME FARM 2
A very special day in Connors Park was had last Saturday when we progressed to the last 16 of the National Cup when we played probably our finest game of the season so far. We started the game very well with plenty of energy and enthusiasm and our first goal of the game was finished well by Kevin Flynn coming from an Eoin Kindlon cross after 10 minutes. This calmed the nerves and allowed us to play with confidence and our ability shone through. The second goal was the first of three from Jonathan McEvoy with a lovely pass from Conor Coad and Jonathon using his pace raced passed the Home Farm defence and coolly slotted the ball in the back of the net. An unfortunate mistake at the back left the visitors back into the game when they scored from a well taken corner and it finished 2-1 at half time. After ten minutes into the second half Jonathan scored his second of the game and again this gave the team a great lift and we played some excellent football and really left the Dublin side struggling. Conor Coad scored our fourth and Jonathan scored the fifth to complete his hat trick. Home Farm did score a late consolation goal with about six minutes to go but the game was well and truly over at that point. Although we did see some excellent individual performances on the day, it would not be fair to single any one player out as it was such a fine team performance. Well done to the team, John and Nicky and a huge thanks to the great numbers of supporters who turned up on the day.
UNDER 14
The A team made their exit from the SFAI cup in terrible conditions in Wexford. Reece Rooney gave us the lead but we were undone by two set-pieces and lost 2-1 in the end.
