PREMIER
The month opened brightly for the Premier team who recorded a 2-1 win away to Tramore with Kevin O'Brien and Rory Walsh scoring. We started our FAI Junior Cup campaign with an 8-0 win over Portlaw, Glenn O'Neill scoring four, Keith Ryan, Keith Worley (2) and Danny Sheridan. We defeated De La Salle in the second round of the Munster Junior Cup on a 4-1 scoreline - scorers Kevin O'Brien (2), Rory Walsh (2).
JUNIOR
In other junior action, a Wayne Ryan goal secured all three points in a 1-0 home win against Ballinroad.
UNDER 11
The A team recorded a hard fought 1-0 home win against Tramore A courtesy of a Tadhg Whelan goal. The C team continued their good start with an 8-2 win over De La Salle B with Luke Fitzgerald and Ryan O'Higgins both scoring hat-tricks and also gaining three points against a young Kilmacthomas team.
UNDER 12
The A team defeated Southend 8-0 with a Conor Coad hat-trick and goals from Daniel Aherne, Gavin O'Donovan (2), Walter Croke and Kenneth McEvoy. A tougher test was provided by Tramore and a lone goal from Walter Croke settled the issue. The B team were unlucky at home to Carrick, going down 2-1 with Daryl Hennessy scoring. Away to Ferrybank we lost 5-1 (Niall McCabe) despite a good performance.
UNDER 14
The A team played nearest rivals Bohs and comfortably won the game 2-0 with an excellent display. Jonathan McEvoy scored after five minutes to give us the perfect start. Reece Rooney's free-kick mid-way through the second half made the points safe. We also had a big league win in Dungarvan with Jack Gaule and Jonathan McEvoy causing endless problems for the home side. The B team played Tramore for the second time and again came off worse against a very strong side.
UNDER 16
We played in the first game under Ferrybank's lights but came out on the wrong end of a 4-0 scoreline. A better performance saw us take three points in Carrick with Rob Bresnan and Aaron Molloy scoring and this was followed by a 4-0 win against Ballyduff - Paul Power (2), Robin Spencer and Rob Bresnan. |
